Various editions of the Honda Accord

Entering its 42 nd year of production in 2018, the Honda Accord is the first Japanese car model to be manufactured in the country. With its 42 nd year of manufacturing, the markets are all set to welcome the ninth edition of the 2018 Honda Accord. Let us take a look at how some of the previous editions of the Honda Accord graduated with time.

  • Edition 1 (1976-1981)
This was a three-door hatchback car that cost barely around $3,995 (of course, a lot for those days). It came with an aluminum cylinder and had standard features, plus an FM stereo. Within four years of its release, about 972 Honda Accords were sold in the market.

  • Edition 2 (1982-1985)
This gen two model had a larger body along with an added benefit of better fuel consumption. It was released in the market in the year 1983.
  • Edition 3 (1986-1989)
By now, Honda Accord as a brand had become almost a favorite amongst the citizens of the country. This model was not just larger but also sportier in both looks and performance than its predecessor. It even came in multiple trims.
  • Edition 6 (1998-2002)
Both the coupe and sedan models of the Accord had a new body, engine, and chassis. Also, dual airbags were now a standard in both these variations, with an added option of side airbags.
  • Edition 7 (2003-2007)
In this gen seven model too, the car was made bigger and a lot more powerful, thus making it a raving success once again. It had enhanced styling as well as an extravagant interior room.
  • Edition 8 (2008-2012)
This edition of the Accord was the most spacious and came with an extremely powerful engine as compared to the previous Honda Accords. The roofline was higher and the wheelbase was longer as well. It also came with a 3.5-liter engine.
  • Edition 9 (2018)
The 2018 Honda Accord has a more aerodynamic roofline that resembles a coupe and a larger rear. Overall, this one looks a lot more fashionable and comes with a six-speed manual transmission. It also comes with a turbo-charged engine and stylish interiors. On the whole, it is a mid-sized sedan with complete value for money.
