The New Honda Accord – Its Notable Features

While auto enthusiasts are divided between SUVs and crossovers, Honda Accord has managed to garner the attention of fans of almost every other car segment. Take the new Honda Accord, for example. The luxury sedan has managed to haul customers inclined toward the average compact crossover. And with six trims or variants, you get a great variety of tech specs and other features that can give its competitors a run for their money.

Notable Features
The new Honda Accord, unlike most sedans, is surprisingly spacious due to ample legroom and boot space. Moreover, you can choose from two turbo four-cylinder engines with different displacements based on your driving preferences.

The New Honda Accord – Its Notable Features
It has been observed that people who own sedans do not consider MPG (miles per gallon). However, for those inclined towards fuel economy, Accord is one of those few sedans that have also thrown a hybrid model in the mix, also available in a Sport trim level. Let us see what the sedan has to offer us under the hood.

Powertrain specs
Under the hood, the new Honda Accord’s lineup begins with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out 192 horsepower. However, those needing speed should check out their 2.0-liter, four-cylinder that offers a galloping 252 horsepower. What sets apart the 2.0-liter option is the seamless, 10-speed automatic shift.

The hybrid model is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline-powered engine and electric motors. The excellent chassis design lets the driver push the car through the most challenging corners with minimal body roll. The steering is smooth and offers best-in-class handling, albeit with a bit of feedback. The new Honda Accord has an excellent track record regarding fuel economy. The 2.0T 10-speed automatic ensemble delivered 35MPG (miles per gallon). However, it is the hybrid trim that steals the limelight with 47MPG. Does it find the right spot between a roaring sports sedan and a reliable family car? Let us find out.

Safety
When it comes to safety, the all-new Honda Accord has a decent rating in terms of safety and driver-assistance features. It has crucial crash-avoidance technologies in every trim. This includes automated emergency braking to avert unforeseen collisions and lane-keeping assistance to help drivers safely stick to lanes without veering off dangerously. However, you must shell out extra bucks for Blind-Spot Monitoring, Parking sensors, and rear-cross traffic. While these features ensure optimum safety, the comfortable drive can make all the difference.

Interior, comfort, and everything else
The new Honda Accord’s interior will take you by surprise. The leg room in the rear seats is better than most of its competitors. Although the basic trim has handsome furnishing and creature comforts, the top trims are decked out with temperature-controlled front seats and heated rear seats. The 17 cubic feet worth of cargo space sets the new Accord apart from its competitors. Moreover, it does all of this without losing any electric powertrain components. And with the rear seats folded, it can hold two more carry-on bags. Regarding infotainment and connectivity, all the Honda Accord trims are fitted with an 8.0-inch display with Bluetooth and USB connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The infotainment system is easy to use. While the lesser trims have four to eight speaker systems, its EX-L trim has a premium audio system with ten speakers and a 450-watt amplifier.

The new Honda Accord offers adequate mileage with a limited warranty for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever is sooner, and a powertrain warranty covering five years or 60,000 miles. However, unlike most of its competitors, it offers no complimentary scheduled maintenance.
