The Level 2 Trim of the Saturn Ion was recognized as the Quad coupe entry-level trim. Its features included 15-inch tires, steel wheels with wheel covers in plastic, an AM/FM stereo, and air conditioning.

The AM/FM stereo comes with a single-disk CD player, and the auxiliary audio input jack was also included in the later years.

Level 3
This trim level was the top one with more features. There is the addition of more convenience items and elements in this trim level of Saturn Ion, such as power windows and door locks, 16 inches tires, keyless entry, aluminum alloy wheels, an AM/FM stereo, and upgraded and premium-quality cloth seating surfaces. The AM/FM stereo features both a single-disk CD player and a cassette player, and in the later models, a satellite radio option was also added.

Red Line
This trim of the Ion was referred to as the performance-oriented trim, and only Quad Coupe was available. It was empowered by features such as unique and distinctive aluminum alloy wheels, a unique front grille and body kit, a rear spoiler, and upgraded and high-quality seating surfaces in cloth. Its performance is enhanced and boosted by the I4 gasoline supercharged, 2.0 liters engine.
