Samsung Galaxy S3 vs. Samsung Galaxy S7
At first sight, the comparison between Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 seems to be somewhat of a joke after all, we’re comparing one of the current giants from the Samsung stable (even though it released a year back in March 2016) to one of Samsung’s older, albeit great phones that released way back in May 2012. This article sheds light on some known and some not-so-known differences between the two Samsung Galaxy phones.
Physical description
S3 is available in two colors white and blue while the Galaxy S7 is available in silver, gold and black. However, the S3 (133g) is around 12% lighter than S7 (152g).
Software
S7 has a TouchWiz UI which runs on Android Marshmallow v6.0, while the S3 runs on Ice Cream Sandwich v4.04 and lacks a UI. S3 features a quad-core processor and a 1GB RAM, while S7 features an octa-core Snapdragon 820/ Exynos 8 Octa 8890 and runs on a powerful 4GB RAM. S3 has an internal memory of 16/32/64GB which is expandable up to 64GB, while S7 has 32/64GB internal storage and has expandable memory up to 2TB. Moreover, the S3 features an 8MP rear and 1.9MP front camera, while the S7 features a 12MP rear and a 5MP front camera. When it comes to Bluetooth technology, S3 features v4.0 while the S7 features v4.2.
Extras
One of the biggest differences where S3 scores over S7 is the fact that S3 features a radio and the S7 doesn’t. S3 features proximity and accelerometer sensors as well as NFC, whereas S7 features all the above plus fingerprint, barometer and heart-rate sensor.
