Key Features of the New Chevrolet Tahoe

Full-size cars are one of the most popular automobiles selling across the country. Buyers mainly prefer such vehicles if they have a big family to accommodate and still want to have plenty of room for cargo. Since their introduction to the market, these automobiles have undergone major changes in design and efficiency. The new Chevrolet Tahoe is one such automobile currently selling in its fifth generation. Here are some key specs to take note of.

Seating capacity
The new Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-size automobile that can comfortably fit 7-8 people. And the word comfortable is not something that is taken lightly by the brand.

Key Features of the New Chevrolet Tahoe
Even the second and third-row seats have ample leg room, allowing passengers to stretch out and enjoy the ride.

Performance
For a massive vehicle like the Tahoe, only the supercharged V8 engine block can do justice with 420 horses worth of torque. Chevy Tahoe lovers always go with the standard 5.3L or the upgraded 6.2L V8 engine. But for this year’s lineup, Chevy has also introduced an alternative 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel Engine. The Tahoe does come with a 10-speed automatic transmission, available in all-wheel or rear-wheel drives. The V8 engines are big gas guzzlers, so the new Chevrolet Tahoe doesn’t get points for fuel efficiency.

The big block V8 manages only 14mpg in the city with 20 on the highway. The Duramax Turbo fares slightly better with 27mpg on the road.

Interior, handing, and safety
The all-new Chevrolet Tahoe is undoubtedly a powerhouse monster that could tear up the asphalt on a clear sunny day. But Chevy has not done much to upgrade the interiors except increase space and comfort. However, the exterior looks more appealing. Some cool upgrades include a one-of-its-kind power-sliding central console and a 10.2-inch touch screen infotainment system. The infotainment system offers advanced built-in apps to control the overall performance and handling, including additional trailering with cameras installed for real-time monitoring. A dedicated magnetic ride control and multiple powertrain options improve driving efficiency and provide smart control. For a vehicle this size, the Tahoe feels no different while handling on the freeway or navigating busy streets. Also, the Tahoe comes with significant upgrades in safety features and monitoring systems to ensure a safe ride with adaptive control and braking systems.

Trim variants
The Tahoe Z71 is one of the most popular and suggested trim variants to buy for a number of reasons. Firstly, the Z71 comes with a number of exterior upgrades that are suitable for those long-haul drives and even some cool-off roading when the occasion calls for it. Moreover, it is one of the trims that come with a dedicated electronic slip differential to improve ride handling and safety. So, if you have driven into unexpected weather and terrain changes, don’t worry because the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe is designed to stay put on the road. This is coupled with a magnetic ride control to offer smooth driving in any condition. And lastly, the 12.3-inch digital gauge display has all the information you’ll need for the ride. No need to switch back and forth between the infotainment as everything is perfectly designed to suit your eye line. The Chevrolet Tahoe RST, Premier, LT, LS, and High Country are other trims to check out and customize.

Cost of popular trims
The Chevrolet Tahoe LS is the base variant priced at $52,000 for the preinstalled standard features and upgrades. And the High Country is the most premium of the six trims, priced at $72,600 for the base package. Chevrolet offers tons of customization and upgrades that will affect the car’s purchase price.

Chevrolet is a popular brand, and all trim variants of the Tahoe are certainly in the high five-figure range, without modifications. But it is still the cheaper option among full-size vehicles manufactured by GMA, JEEP, Toyota, and Nissan.
