The new Subaru Outback has had a bit of a makeover compared to the older generations. One of the most significant changes is the increased ground clearance and ride height compared to the other wagons in the market.

New Features
While the new Subaru Outback has had some upgrades, there are not too many changes compared to the older Subaru Outback. Some of these minor changes include a new front-end styling. This comes with changes in the grille, which is a lot larger in the current model, design changes in the headlights, as well as changes to the front bumper.

Engine and Performance
The Subaru Outback does outdo itself in terms of engine and performance. The lineup comes with a pair of flat-four cylinder engines. One is a 182 horsepower 2.5-liter standard engine, and the other is a 260 horsepower 2.4-liter engine which is optional. Of course, both are connected to the variable automatic transmission, which works as an eight-speed great box. This is the standard engine that comes with most Outbacks. The model also offers variants such as the Turbocharged, which offers better acceleration and transmission change. All versions of the Outback also come with standard all-wheel drive. The high ground clearance also means fewer troubles with navigating different terrains, muddy roads, and more. If you want to venture out into the wild, you can also opt for the Wilderness variant, which comes with better suspension, skid plates, and snow and mud driving modes. In terms of towing, the standard wagon is capable of pulling around 2700 pounds, and the turbocharged can pull around 3500 pounds. The vehicle also has decent performance in fuel efficiency, and you can get around 26 mpg on local roads and 33 mpg on highways. The turbocharged version is slightly less efficient in fuel usage and can give you around 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on a highway.

Interiors and Storage
Being a large-sized vehicle, the new Outback Subaru has a lot to offer in terms of interiors. For starters, it is a spacious car with tons of cabin and storage space. The quality of the materials used to build the interiors is comfortable, although not luxurious. The cabin design has garnered some criticism from users as it comes across as dull, but the car makes up for this in terms of functionality and better seating height.

While the base model has only the most basic features, the more expensive trims come with climate control, heated seats, and even power-adjustable seats. You can even get heated rear seats if you’re willing to spend money on the expensive and fancy trims of the Outback Subaru. In terms of storage, the Outback offers around 33 cubic feet of storage space and can carry loads of luggage.
