Features that Make the Ford Mustang Mach-E Stand Out

Interior, storage, and comfort
The battery of the SUV is hidden beneath the vehicle’s floor, allowing sufficient cargo and passenger space and a lot of headroom and legroom. Its sleek dashboard features a functional digital gauge cluster. The interior of the SUV greatly enhances the driving experience with its features, including a Sync infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and adjustable ambient lighting. The front trunk is made of sturdy plastic, ideal for storing ice, that can be cleaned and drained. With its comfortable, flexible, supportive seats and radio silence, Mach-E is sealed from road and wind noise during high-speed drives.

EV motor and performance
The Mustang Mach-E strikes an exceptional combination between exquisite craftsmanship, thrilling performance, and all-around adaptability. It is available with either a standard-range 70-kWh battery or an extended-range 91-kWh pack. Additionally, two drivetrain configurations are available: rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). While the AWD variants have two motors, one up front and one down back, the Mach-E RWD vehicles only have a single electric motor at the back. Notably, the Mach-E GT only comes with AWD.

It can travel more than 300 miles on a full charge. The combined output of 634 pound-feet of torque and 480 horsepower in the AWD variant enables the Mach-E GT to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Less-loaded variants feature 317 to 428 pound-feet of torque and 266 to 346 horsepower.

Charging and battery life
Ford estimates the Mustang Mach-E range to be 224 to 312 miles, depending on the battery pack. Each model includes a mobile fast-charging device that can extend battery life by up to 80% overnight when used with a 240-volt outlet or up to 30 miles per night when used with a 120-volt outlet. A Ford charging station (with the capacity to refuel at 32 miles per hour and recharge the battery overnight) can be ordered online and installed by licensed electricians.

Based on an average yearly mileage of 15,000 miles, the EPA predicts that the cost to charge the Mustang Mach-E can be between $650 and $800. Depending on your area’s electricity cost, the charging prices will change.

Driver assistance and add-on features
The SUV comes standard with a 15.5-inch touch screen, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, four USB ports, and a six-speaker stereo. The touchscreen is easy to navigate and provides access to a variety of apps. Additionally, the model ranks high for its driver assistance mainly because of its standard automated emergency braking with forward-collision warning, automatic high-beam headlights, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control and adaptive cruise control with cutting-edge BlueCruise hands-free driving system.

Cost, warranty & insurance
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is available at a starting base price of around $46,895. Models with the Extended Range battery pack start at $63,575, while the more powerful Mach-E GT starts at $69,895. Ford offers both a limited warranty that covers three years or 36,000 miles as well as a   powertrain warranty that covers up to five years or 60,000 miles. Notably, its electrical components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. The insurance cost depends on the coverage one needs, the type of insurance, one’s credit and driving record, age, and location of purchase, among other factors.
