5 Reasons to Buy the Ford Crown Victoria

Ford made the Crown Victoria for almost 33 years. Initially, the model was mostly used as cop cars with light bars and many police ensembles. This full-sized sedan succeeded the Ford LTD Crown Victoria. There were two generations produced and marketed by the brand for almost two decades. Many of the models were put to use as taxi cabs too. If you’re contemplating buying a Ford Crown Victoria, here are five reasons to go ahead:

Ride Quality

Even though the model is classical, you’ll never have any complaints about the ride quality of the Crown Victoria. Overall, the experience is comfortable and will be so for many years, provided the car is in good condition.

5 Reasons to Buy the Ford Crown Victoria
This is the truth for shorter drives within the city. If you are planning to take this car for long drives, you may want to use another car because the seats in the car are not supportive for longer periods.

The rear-wheel drive car has a V8 engine that accelerates well. The car’s fuel economy in the city is anywhere between 13 and 17 miles per gallon and between 17 and 25 mpg on the highway. The horsepower is between 224 and 239 for a power-driven ride.  Police departments and cab companies bought this car because of the amazing strength that the V8 engine delivered.

It has always been fast and good on speed while the rear-wheel drive ramped its game at predictable handling.

Interior and Exterior Designs

One worrisome point is about the car’s exterior and interior look outdated and ancient. But, with the Crown Victoria, you can rest these doubtful thoughts. The body-on-frame model has some pretty modernized looks on the out and inside. The six-seater model has some decent crash test ratings with soft seating capabilities. Besides six passengers, the trunk space is pretty generous too.  One of the reasons why the car was so popular amongst the cops and taxi fleet owners is the spaciousness of the interiors where professionals can sit, carry their gear and still not worry about cramps or any space issues.

Safety

Since the last model was produced about a decade back, you will not get some of the top-of-the-line advanced safety features. On the innovative and tech aspects, the Ford Crown Victoria may be lacking vis-a-vis a competitor’s features.  Nevertheless, it is a good car to start with for first-timers. Some of the key safety features of the car include the antilock disc brakes, side airbags for the front seats (available only for trims – LX and LX Sports), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, seat-position sensors, crash-severity sensor, dual-stage airbags, and safety belt pre-tensioners. The big car has received ‘Good’ ratings by the IIHS for its frontal-offset crash testing, four stars for side-impact testing, and five stars for the driver and front-seat passenger protection.

Model Choice

There are three trim levels of the Crown Victoria to pick from. The Base model, LX, and lastly, the LX Sport trim. The base model has all the standard features like cassette stereo, AC, and power driver seats. Upgraded versions have CD players and keyless entry options.

The LX model has extra features like alloy wheels, a trip computer, automatic climate control, and an overhead console featuring a compass. The LX Sport model has a performance torque converter and tires, dual exhaust, revised suspension, leather trim seats, moonroof, power-adjustable pedals, floor-mounted shift lever, and traction control.

Affordability

Another reason for choosing the Ford Crown Victoria is the decent cost you can get at home. It is budget-friendly. The Base model is about 2,999, while the Crown Victoria LX Sport model is about $5,792. The Crown Victoria LX is priced at about $7,125.
