Please note the third row is optional. Instead of going with the usual fold-down tailgate, Lexus opted for the side-hinged rear door, making the cargo loading a bit challenging during the parallel-parking situation.  

Safety
Staying true to the brand’s legacy, the Lexus GX 470 comes well-engineered with safety features like front-seat side airbags, roll-sensing side curtain airbags for the first two rows, and antilock disc brakes. Other standard safety attributes are stability control, traction control, hill-start assists control, and downhill assist control. Lexus Link communications system is an optional add-on apart from a rearview camera alongside a navigation system.
