The 3500 LS adds cruise control and a tilt adjustment for the steering column. The LT variants of the vehicle come with remote keyless entry, and optional features such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and six-way adjustable powered front seats. Each variant comes with a basic AM/FM/MP3 compatible stereo with two front door-mounted speakers.

Additionally, GM’s OnStar communications system comes as standard as well, providing turn-by-turn navigation, remote diagnostics, hands-free calling, in-vehicle security, and some other emergency services. For device connectivity and charging, a single auxiliary input jack and a 12-volt power outlet are present. Amongst other optional features are bluetooth audio streaming capability, two additional rear speakers, and a USB port for device integration.

The Chevrolet Express Passenger Van seats up to 15 passengers comfortably. The interior design is more functional rather than flamboyant and luxurious. The headroom in the first, second, third, and fourth rows of seats are 40.85 inches, 38.42 inches, 38.5 inches, and 38.3 inches respectively. The legroom in these rows are 41.35 inches, 36.3 inches, 36.58 inches, and 36.58 inches respectively. If all the seats are folded down, then the cargo space behind the first passenger row is 239.7 cubic feet. A high-roof cargo option is absent, so occupants may have a slight shortage of space if you place goods in the rear of the van.

Engine and performance

There are three engines available with the Chevrolet Express Passenger van. The first, default option is a 4.3-liter V6 engine which produces 276 hp and 298 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Then, there is a 6.6-liter V8 that produces 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a six-speed automatic gearbox. A third, frugal 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine produces 181 hp and 369 lb-ft.

The powerful engines of the Chevrolet Express Passenger are capable of transporting passengers from one place to another in a smooth and effortless manner. The ride quality of the van is smooth, but the weight of the van can make it cumbersome to handle on difficult roads.

Full-size vans are exempt from the federal fuel-economy standards. Therefore, the Chevrolet Express Passenger has not been tested by the EPA, and the manufacturer has not made the van’s economy features available.
